TRPS Presents The 2008
5TH ANNUAL POSTER CONTEST
$1000 Grand Prize!
If you are between the ages of 18 and 35
you are eligible to enter TRPS’ fifth annual poster design contest, with a design promoting TRPS’ 10/11/08 Hall of Flowers poster show in San Francisco.
Grand Prize includes: $1000 and 100 offset-printed copies of your winning poster, plus a free table at the event, a year’s free membership in TRPS and a TRPS T-shirt.
Runners-Up will each receive a year’s free membership and a TRPS T-shirt.
The Grand Prize Winner and Runners-Up will be chosen by the TRPS Board of Directors.
All competing artists will retain copyright in their poster designs, and possession
and ownership of their original art.
Entries must be received by 7/15/08.

This contest is designed for those born between 7/15/73 and 7/15/90.
EACH ENTRANT
- Must be a legal resident of the U.S. or Canada;
- Must be the sole owner of all rights relating to the poster
submission.
THE POSTER SUBMISSION
- Must be the unpublished wholly original work of the Entrant;
- Should be 12.75” x 17.25” (plus .25" bleed); landscape or
portrait format
- Must include the following text: “THE ROCK POSTER SOCIETY PRESENTS THE TRPS FESTIVAL OF ROCK POSTERS, AT THE HALL OF FLOWERS, GOLDEN GATE PARK, SAN FRANCISCO, OCTOBER 11, 2008, 10 A.M. TO 6 P.M. coated V2 Untagged) unlocked PDF file, accompanied by the Entrant's
name, address, phone number, e-mail address and age; file should
be at 100% size and include a letter-sized color printout and
a 5.2” x 7.6” 150 dpi JPEG thumbnail image.

This Contest is sponsored by The Rock Poster Society (TRPS) for the purpose of obtaining a poster design to promote TRPS’ October 13, 2007 poster show for artists and dealers at the Hall of Flowers in San Francisco. In an effort to create more opportunities for younger poster artists in an industry sometimes slanted toward older artists, this Contest is designed primarily for those who were born between July 15, 1973 and July 15, 1990, who are legal residents of the 50 states of the U.S. (including the District of Columbia) and Canada (excluding Quebec), and who are not subject to any agreement which would interfere with the Contest Entrant’s ability to enter this Contest or to license the rights to his or her poster submission. This Contest shall be construed and governed according to the laws of the U.S.
Each poster submission must be the original work of the submitting Entrant and must be previously unpublished. By entering the Contest, each Entrant assures TRPS that his or her poster submission is wholly original and his or her own creation, and that he or she is sole owner of all rights relating to the submission.
The winning poster submission will be off-set printed; its dimensions
should be 12.75” x 17.25” and may have the image bleed (include
a .25” bleed - for a total size of 13" x 17.5"). Included in the design of each poster submission
must be the following text: “THE ROCK POSTER SOCIETY PRESENTS

TRPS reserves the right to eliminate poster submissions from consideration at its sole discretion, without notice to the Entrant.
The TRPS Board of Directors will select, from among the eligible Entrants, a Grand Prize Winner and one or more Runners-Up. The Grand Prize Winner will receive $1000, 100 copies of his or her winning poster, a free table at the Hall of Flowers show, a year’s free membership in TRPS and a TRPS T-shirt. Each Runner-Up will receive a year’s free membership and a T-shirt. All Entrants will retain the copyright in their poster designs, and possession and ownership of their original art.
The Grand Prize Winner and each Runner-Up will be required to sign and return an affidavit of eligibility and a release which will include, among other things, a representation of the poster submission’s originality and a grant to TRPS of the right to post his or her submission on the TRPS web site. The Grand Prize Winner will be required to sign and return additional documentation, including a license agreement in which he or she will grant TRPS a non-exclusive perpetual license to use the work in TRPS promotional material and merchandise. If the Entrant chosen as the Grand Prize Winner is found to be ineligible or does not comply with these Official Rules, he or she will be disqualified and a Runner-Up may be declared Grand Prize Winner.
All federal, state, provincial, or other tax liabilities arising from this Contest will be the sole responsibility of each prize winner. This Contest is subject to these Official Rules and all applicable federal, state, provincial and local laws. It is the responsibility of each Entrant to make sure that the aims, process and prizes of this Contest are not in conflict with his or her local laws or policies. By entering this Contest, Entrants agree to waive any right to claim any ambiguity or error in the Official Rules of the Contest, or the Contest itself, and agree to be bound by these Official Rules and by all decisions of TRPS, whose decisions are binding and final in all respects. Entrants agree to indemnify and hold harmless TRPS from any and all liability resulting or arising from use of his or her poster submission.
While TRPS will seek to accurately present poster submissions on the TRPS web site, the poster submissions as posted on the web site may differ from what was originally submitted due to technical errors, problems or compatibility issues and TRPS shall have no liability related thereto. By participating, Entrants agree that TRPS shall have no responsibility or liability (including, but not limited to, liability for any property loss, damage, personal injury or death) in connection with this Contest (including, but not limited to, misprinted or typographical errors on the TRPS web site or other Contest promotional materials), including participation., acceptance/possession and/or use or misuse, and/or defects of a prize awarded herein, even if caused by the negligence of TRPS.
Entrants agree to release all rights to bring a claim, action, or proceeding against TRPS. Entrants further acknowledge that TRPS has neither made nor is in any manner responsible or liable for any warranty, representation or guarantee, express or implied, in fact or in law, relative to any prize. Entrants agree to indemnify and hold harmless TRPS from and against any and all liability, damages, costs, attorneys’ fees, etc. incurred with regard to any claim by any person(s) in connection with any and all of the rights and benefits conferred by Entrant upon TRPS in these Official Rules. TRPS shall not be liable for any injury, damage, loss, expense, accident, delay, inconvenience or irregularity arising out of or relating to any prize awarded in this Contest, even if caused by the negligence of TRPS.
