First pro rock poster: 1998
Art of Ryan Kerrigan
Portland, Oregon
Ryan Kerrigan, originally from New Hampshire and now residing in Portland, Oregon, has become a vital figure in rock poster art. Known for his vibrant colors and 100% hand-drawn free-spirited style, Kerrigan has created posters for legendary venues like the Fillmore and bands from the Grateful Dead to Animal Liberation Orchestra, Spafford, The Wood Brothers, Dogs in a Pile, and festivals such as The Joshua Tree Music Festival, 4 Peaks Music Festival, and For the Funk of It Fest
His journey began in the early ‘90s at Penn State, combining his love of music and visual art. Kerrigan’s work captures the psychedelic essence of the rock era, making him a staple in the music and art scene.

“My first love in art was the old psychedelic rock posters, and to actually be doing that now is a dream come true. I listen to the band as I’m creating the images, and just let the feeling of the music come through in the colors and design.”
