Hot Tomato Studios
Carmichael, California
My name is Michael Dolgushkin, and I work under the name Hot Tomato Studios in Carmichael, California, formerly based in San Francisco. I began doing this kind of art while in high school in 1971, inspired by the work of Mouse and Kelley, Wes Wilson, Victor Moscoso, Rick Griffin, Lee Conklin, Randy Tuten, David Singer, and others. Beginning in the mid-1980s, I designed thousands of monochrome fliers for John Cipollina, Nick Gravenites, Barry Melton, Steve Kimock, Merl Saunders, Terry Dolan, The Dinosaurs, Zero, Big Brother and the Holding Company, Moby Grape, New Riders of the Purple Sage, Blues Project, Spirit, and other legendary musicians.
Since entering the computer age I have continued to design color posters and am happily accepting new commissions. I still draw my lettering and linework in pen and ink before scanning the art to add color and images.  My newest artwork can be seen on my Facebook page.
