Jeff presently reside in outside Athens, Georgia and maintains the original Drowning Creek Studio space and farm in Commerce, Georgia. He started Zen Mystic Studio to enter into the transformational art movement and study oil painting. While still continuing to do work for the music industry, he has shifted a larger portion of his studio time to focus on fine art painting, art prints and more charitable work. He also now manifests live art at events and concerts along with a cadre of other live painters. He can often be found wandering around the globe living in the present moment in search of new experiences and enjoying life.
After receiving his B.F.A. in Graphic Design from Georgia Southern University, Derek landed a job at a historic music venue in Atlanta, The Masquerade. It was there in the dark halls of Heaven, Hell, and Purgatory (the names of the 3 stages) that his love of music and art collided. As the in-house designer, he was able to create posters and graphics for a wide range of events – helping him hone his skill set and provide an adaptable style range depending on the type of music or audience. This led to the launch of his freelance career, designing album covers and gig posters. Peregon Creative is the design studio of the Atlanta based artist, Derek Perez.
The Rock Poster Society (TRPS) was founded in 1998 by a small contingent of collectors, dealers, artists and enthusiasts. We are a nonprofit, all-volunteer (nope, nobody gets paid) organization which seeks to perpetuate and promote the long-standing relationship between music and graphic art that we so fondly call “Rock Poster Art”.
